I am thinking of getting a new intake and am interested in the Halltech. From the pictures it looks like nothing is holding it in place. Does it just lay on top of the shroud or is it bolted down somewhere like the stock intake is. I have a track day scheduled and would not like to have this intake loose in the corners. Has anyone used the BBK with the aluminum housing? Any others I should consider. I dont want to cut the shroud.

No worries Bobtam....its not going anywhere...no cutting required and it does make a significant difference ! The air intake is strapped into the black coupler.....it won't move....

Bubba. I can get one from southern car parts for 299 and no shipping. Is that a good deal? Is the intake noise louder. Not that it matters. Looks great on your car. Am thinking of getting the red to match the engine covers. the black is more subtle though. Hard choice.

Im sure a forum member will have one here for sale (alot cheaper) soon enough. Intake noise is not really any different.....you can hear it sucking air if you put your ear on the hood....but wont notice it once inside the car.

I am totally happy with my red Halltech. I noticed a difference for sure at the higher rpm range in 3rd & 4th gear especially. I did mine before I did my headers & it was noticeable. You can hear a slight whistle from mine when accelerating. after a week or so, I hardly noticed it at all. I paid the $299. no shipping price also. I think it was very worth it.
