Gonna do a mod this weekend. Which is better K&N or Vararam? Why?

well a K&N performance intake kit would get you an 11.15 HP gain on your C5...don't know much about Vararam, but i'd go with K&N...just my $.02

That's what I have on mine. I'm sure that there are many that would disagree with me though.

The Vararam is the only CAI with documented drag strip proof posted on the Forum ....
0.3 -0.4 sec in the Quarter and 3-5 mph in the traps...

HP gains are impossible to validate... think about it...
a chasis dyno is stationary.... the CAI rams in the air as the car moves through it...

Some don't like the fit, others think it looks cheap. still others complain about the install....
But no one has been able to post prood that another system outperforms it....

VARARAM!

I had both and the Vararam is a way better product!

You will get better performance out of it over the K&N FIPK!

Go to www.thelapd.com they have 'em for $305.00 for a while they had at that price shipped!

You could call them too at 1-877-THE-LAPD and ask for Shawn!

Thanks,Matt

Vararam!! The K&N sucks air from INSIDE the engine compartment. Warm air = bad for intakes.

I installed the Vararam B2 on my coupe a while back. took about 3 hours from start to finish (mostly because I kept losing my tools) Cajun dude's install guide was very helpful.

If you do go vararam, Z06 intake screens or similar are highly reccomended to prevent leaves or trash from clogging you intake tubes.

Vararam is better in terms of HP gains, but the K&N would be easier to install. Just depends on what you are looking for.

I know of a few people that have the Callaway and love it. You should consider this as well.
