i am trying to sell my 06 evo but i am not having any bites. so i was thinking that i would just try and trade it in on a z06. Well what i found is a 02 with 49k mi. for $32,451... and they offered me $26k for my car, which has 3k mi. on it. Then they called me back 3 hours later and said they would do $29k for mine. and with what i owe that would make my loan be $35k-ish.
With all that, what do you think i should do? mind you, i don't want to lose my ***, what should I do?
You can do better on the '02. As far as your evo goes you are never going to get as good on a trade. The dealers are going to introduce you to Ben.... Dover

I paid $27k for my 02 Z06 back in November. It had 43K miles on it. I would say they are selling too high. Just like others have done, I was willing to go out of state to find a deal.

Hammer
you got yours from a dealer? i see private party at that price. good deal
why do you want to get rid of your evo already? You couldnt have had it for very long.
i use to have mustangs 3 that is and my wife has a wrx sti so i thought it would be cool having an evo. But i miss the rwd power, and i have always wanted a z06 and they are in my price range..
I know a guy that just got a '03 Z06 with 25k miles that was listed on craigslist for $28k, clean title/good shape. Not sure what he wound up paying, but there are definitely better deals to be had.
Bought my 02' Z06 in Dec. with 55k on the clock for $26k from a dealership. They certified it and put new front rotors and tires, all new brake pads, and the radiator support frame included in the price. I caught it as soon as someone had traded it in. They provided a clean CarFax too.
The title of your thread is "please give me advice" so I will. Quit being upside down on car loans. Save up enough to buy the car you want without being upside down on it. The dealer has you in a position where he will make loads of money off of you on the ZO6 AND your trade in AND on the upside down financing. Why would a dealer want to set you up in a loan where you owe more than what the car is worth? The answer is simple. He does it because he is making lots of money on the deal. I bought my 2002 with 9000 miles on it for $30K. There are good deals to be had out there but you are not going to find one sitting down with the closer at a car dealership to talk about trade ins and financing. All you want a nice car so JUST buy a nice car. Do not give a dealer a chance to make it a bad deal for you by charging too much for the ZO6 and beating you up on the trade in and financing. Sell your Evo on your own and get financing thru a bank or credit union.

That is high as hell for a 02. That is a 28,000 dollar car-period. You should be able to sell your EVO and buy a 02 Z06 and have money in your pocket.

My advice would be to put a adjustable rear sway bar on the evo and the have it tuned to get rid of some of that turbo lag. With the right alignment and a extreamly stiff rear sway you will be suprised at how much the evo feels like a rwd car.
