The vice grip method works for lots of guys that have the demon key in moderately tight. If it's stuck good, the two large flat screwdriver method works better. Just place the two 'drivers on either side (narrow) of the key, and leverage the pin out. You might want to wrap the leather **** in a small towel to protect it, but it's kind of a POS anyway.

Mine was frozen in there. I tried all the articles guys posted here, no good. I had to drill small holes all around the demon key and pull it out with pliers. My buddy who is 450 pounds, was holding the shifter, I had teh key in a pair of vice grips, we pulled until i went flying across the yard, still didtn come out. You could have a bastard one like I did

Put a towel around the **** to protect it. Clamp on to pin with vice grips, use big screw driver to pry up on vice grips! Worked for me!!

Try a little wd-40.
When you do the vise grips, tap upwards with a hammer. This is a lot more effective than just pulling up.

I used this method and it came out relatively easy.

put the vice grips with the jawsfacing the front and rear of the car.
grasp firmly.
Sharply tap the side ( passenger) of the vice grips towards the drivers side.,
As you sharply tap, simultaneously pull up on the vice grips as you wiggle then front to back ( like a densitst pulling a tooth) 3-4 sharp taps and it will be out guaranteed.

This worked for me...although it still took about 90 minutes to work loose

I used the vice grips and tap up with a hammer method on mine - worked like a charm.

Default got it!!!!!

ok I finally got it out last nite! I had to resort to drilling a hole in it and tapping a machine screw in it, then using the vice grips and a little bit of wd40 to get the sob out. I had a real stubbern one apparently. The new boot and **** looks awesome. Thanks again guys!!
