Default Parition question?

Who makes the best partition for the z06? I want one in red if I can find it but I really want to see who offers the best fit with no gaps?

I went on the cheap ($99) and ordered mine from Corvette Partz. It's fairly heavy (two layers of MDF) but covered nicely with matching carpet. There is a 1/2 gap at the top so you can see (and hear) through to the trunk. Still it made a huge difference in calming road/tire noise and makes the stereo sound 100% better.

There was more Velcro than necessary (IMHO) so I removed an inch from the bottom on both ends. The instructions tell you to cover the Velcro with your hands while positioning the divider. Sooner or later you have to let go and then it was difficult to get into it's final resting place. I got a brainstorm, pulled it back out and stapled a couple pieces of heavy duty plastic bag over the Velcro strips. I was then able to slide the divider in place effortlessly. I then went in the trunk and pulled the staples and plastic out and now the partition is in to stay.

I'm happy with the product for the price, if it weren't for the gap at the top it would be perfect. Maybe I'll try and run a strip of sponge foam in the gap. You get what you pay for I guess...

just a little help about the velcro... put a piece of paper down and then pull it out when you have it in place

Best IMHO is Andy's at Z06Parts Expensive, but well built. Made the stereo come to life and dropped the tire noise down a bit. Don

Southerncarparts makes a great fitting partition & tray. I don't know if they come in red though. I got the Z06 emblem on mine, looks great, quick delivery. Plus they are a supporting member of the Forum. Donf

I have the one thats made out of sound dampening foam. I paid $100 for it. It's about 4 inches wide and it's snugs right in with absolutely no gaps anywhere whatsoever. Very sturdy for foam, you couldn't tell it's foam unless you open the truck and look at the back of it. It virtually eliminated all my exhaust noise and looks great with the embroided 50th Anniversary logo in the middle.

I also have one of Andy's. I thought it looked and matched the best.

Very happy with my partition from Andy Mages at Z06Parts, as well. Also picked up a set of his trunk storage covers (top notch quality and color match on both. They truly look OE).
