Why black out phone number when you can get the number on-line and it is easy to find just like I did. I am Xing it out just to be nice.
'02 Corvette Conv., 52K mi., auto, exc. cond., white w/camel top & int., Z06 motor, this is a rare find only 10% of the non Z06 cars got the Z06 motor, now is your chance to own one. $29,000 firm. 417-XXX-9166 days, 417-XXX-2959 eves.
Now I triple dog dare you to post this in OT he will have 100's of calls.
Several years ago when I was living in Orlando there was a Chevy dealership that advertised a '01 Z06 that was an auto. and had a V6. I knew they were especially since they had a seperate area that was dedicated to Corvettes and where the Corvettes were. I went to look at it and sure enough on the window sticker it said auto and V6. It really was a Z06 but obviously it wasnt an auto or V6.
There were 14,760 Coupes and 12,710 Verts built in 2002, so according to the seller (10% with this rare option) there are 2,746 more non-Z06's running around out there with LS6 engines.

Don't laugh, but this may be somewhat true. That 10% number is , but it is a known fact that some F-bodies left the factory with LS6 motors when the supply of LS1 ran out. It is very rare, but it did happen.
If they had a supply problem, all car manufacturers will substitue something, since shutting down the line costs them millions a day. Sometimes the sub is in your favor, most times not .
Even so, I think it more likely it had LS6 heads/cam swapped onto the original block. Especially if he was not the original owner, and it was sold to him with the 10% fish story.
Just last week, I saw an add for a ZR-1, with a L98 engine???? wtf....

for the C5, I think the seller is confusing the few Z06 parts the factory started using on the LS1 mid year 2001. Just because it has the Z06 block & intake... doesn't make it an entire Z06 engine.

Some 01 & 02 F-Bodies came from the factory with LS6 blocks.
The color of the block means nothing.
Some LS1 blocks have a bullseye and some don't.
Casting #12561168 is a 01-02 LS6 block.
GM list the LS1 and LS6 blocks as interchangable.
The LS6 is a bit thicker in critical areas.
The LS6 'windows' are actually larger holes in the top of the crank journals to flow more oil at higher RPMs'.
There is no performance advantage in having a LS6 block with LS1 internals.
A LS6 block in a F-body DOES NOT make a LS6 motor in a F-Body!

I was thinking some one just Modded the fuel rail covers with Red L-6 covers. Whoever appraised the car at trade in put 2 & 2 together and came up with L 6. But here's a history note. In 1959 the power glide plant had a fire. Rather than stop production on autos they quickly bellhousinged 4 speed Hydromatics from Olds to bolt up to 283s and sent them to truck production lines. This made for a highly sought after junk yard find in the UDRA Gas class wars of the '60s.
and lets not forget the 6 speed C5's that got the 2.73 rear axle ratio from the factory... and the 1983 Vette I have stored away in a secret-double-probation hiding place.

Yeah, last year at a show, I saw an 84 crossfire ZR1
