I had one of these for my C4 Coupe which I used daily when parked at work. Use to keep the inside cool especially with the clear top. I just found that they make them for C5 Verts/FRC too. Made by Ferguson. It covers both the front and rear windows plus the sides as opposed to a shade you put in the windshield only shades it. That's what I was using but my rear window waterfall cover was getting sun bleach.
Won't happen now with the tophat nor will the canvas top be exposed to the sun all day. Folds up to a small package and only takes a minute or so to put on.
I have one of these and I use it all the time. It saves the top and the interior. The only thing I don't like about it is the rear attaching method. When I put the tabs under the last bow of the top I noticed some scratching of the paint. Now I just let it lay on the back without folding it under the bow. It's a LOT easier than a full car cover.

Yeah that's the way I did it. I had it outside this afternoon check how it will hold up in windy conditions and it was just fine not sticking those tabs underneath. I wanted to do it that way cause I didn't want to fuss with loosening the top latches just lift the rear part up and slip in underneath. That would take too much time for something useful on a daily basis. This works great just laying it on the rear edge seems taught enough to stay put.
I just ordered one from Corvette Central. You should get a commission as I paid $165.00 for it. I really need it at work, No shade. Except a few trees, (birds and sap)
That seems like a very odd product?! I would think that a car cover would only take a few more seconds to put on yet it would protect the car much better.

I have one of these also, but don't use it much anymore. I can get the top up quicker and use a window shade to protect the interior, combine that with a window valet and I am all set. Mine is not a daily driver, so sun on the top is not a big concern.

Are you using this out in parking lots when you park the car in the summer?I would think some nut would just come and take it off the car since it can be put on so easy.
I've only had it displaced once. I say displaced because it didn't come off. The wind caught the unattached back and blew it up. If I had put the tabs under the bow nothing would have moved it. It's been in some heavy rain storms here with only a little bit of seep through at the seams, and this is with heavy downpour conditions. I agree that this is not for everyone. It is expensive but it is what I needed for my application. It takes me about 30 seconds to put it on and considerably less to remove it when not folded under the bow. Everyone has to make their own decision regarding this product, but I have been pleased with it.
I got mine from Ecklers same place I got the one for the C4. It was like $174. Made by Ferguson.
Well yes and no as to oddity. Once you've laid it out on the vehicle and see how it hooks up then you fold it up like in thirds then the whole thing in thirds again. So when I take it out to put on, I place in the same spot unfold and attach. I would like the cover the entire vehicle but I'm investing heavily in Zaino, no seriously I would like the cover the entire vehicle but I think that would be bulkier and require a little more time, plus get tricky when it's windy getting it on and off. This little guy is more compact and very easy to slip on and off.
Yes I'm using while parked at work. I'm sure any body could steal about anything these days. But I've never had a problem in 5 years doing it with the '93 coupe.
Yes they make them for coupes as well as verts. On the coupe you pop the rear hatch slip the rear of the cover under the glass (it has a pocket for the glass) and shut it. Then the normal elastic clips/velcro to the handles and wipers.
Yeah the shade things works ok it doesn't protect the back window and the sun will bleach out that black water fall cover that is part of the top. So that's why I'm using this now that I found it for the vert.
I will have to look into one of those since my Vert is my DD and I have no shady place at work I can park my car...on the good side, I don't have to worry about anyone messing with it since I can see my Vette right outside my office window.
