This is a common problem. Could be the brushes on the motor are just stuck.. could be the motor has gone out. Try holding the button down and slamming the door a few times. If that doesnt work you might try taking the door panel off and tapping the motor with something. If none of that works, you might need to replace the assembly.
FYI.. if you have to replace the assembly send me a PM.. I have a new one I am selling from when mine did this, but I was able to tap on it and fix it.
fonzi method... turn car on, go to passenger side, hold down button and bang the panel right below the switch. Annoying as hell, but usually works for me! This can be embarassing so make sure there aren't any neighbors around to witness this technique!
Same thing is happening with my passenger window on my 01 convert. but it works on and off...most times the car just sits and it works fine the next time I drive it...mine started doing this the day after it took it for emissions testings
I have to try those tips....thanks to everyone who offered suggestions
I had the passenger window motor assembly replaced about four years ago - over $500. Car was left in drive for garage sale 85 deg sun and now the window doesn't work again. I'm going to try the door tricks above.
6/1/07 -All tricks failed. Chevy service advisor said probably switch. Check my records - had first motor replaced at 15,000mi in 03- current miles 23,900. Took it in for service- dealer wanted $400-plus for new motor(offer 10% off)- - -second new motor in the same door. Called GM customer service - they sounded like they would help. Do deal.
What's wrong with GM that they can't make a power window last 8000miles? I've never had a window problem with any other GM car. They're making it very hard to keep brand loyalty. Does a Porsche have the same kinda problems?
6/7/07 - Good news- GM called and they are having the dealer fix my window motor free. This could be a good sign for American car companies - especially for the Corvette. I suggested they take pictures before and after installation and send to the window engineers at GM to serve as a learning tool.

Reason: Update-
I just got done replacing the passenger window motor etc in my Z06 and I did it in about an hour, it’s not a big deal at all. There isn’t much to mess up when replacing it so if yours goes out just save yourself a bunch of cash and put one in yourself. I was quoted 3 to 400 but did it myself for 87ish…
