Default Raptor Shift Light

Thinking about getting one. Anybody have pictures of one installed? Where do you put it and how hard is it to install? Thanks!

I put mine in the A-pillar with a dual pod gauge setup. Some people flushmount the shift light into the pod, but I got a chrome one and chose to leave it exposed.

There's tons of other possible areas to mount it, some go for the hidden look and mount it in the center air vent. With the cover off, the LED's are very bright, and very obvious even in the sun.

Installation involves 3 wires, power, ground, and the tach lead.
I found the tach wire in a bundle of wired leading up to the instrument cluster. Easiest place to access and wire into, but you'll have to probe a few white wires (as there a few in that bundle) to find the correct wire.
Then, just set the dials on the light for cyl configuration and your desired rpm.

Mine is mounted on the base of the pillar next to the dash. It is not easily seen unless you know where to look and are standing next to the driver window and looking straight down. It is very easy to adjust the rpm and comes with a clear cap and a black cap if you choose to not see the light everytime. Well worth the price!

I designed a custom mount into my pillar pod and had it machined out of Delrin.

Here's a thread detailing the hookup by Flyin'Brian.

Here's my Raptor mount.

^^^^ Looks awesome Ed! Perfect!

To the original poster, I have my gauge cluster out of the car at the moment and I can take a picture for you where I have tapped into the tach lead for my Raptor shift light

I flush mounted mine in my A-pillar dual gauge pod . All I did was drill a 7/8" hole with a hole saw bit and friction fit the light in there. It fits really snug.

That looks great and something I need to consider adding to my setup

Default shiftlight

I mounted mine to the driver's side visor retaining clip. This was going to be a temporary arrangement until I sorted out my boost/fuel/wideband gauge situation, but it's worked out so well that I plan to keep it there. I just used a longer screw through the c-clip.
