Default 4L60E Woes...

Okay guys here the deal. About a week ago, I noticed that my trans has a slow high reving up-shift out of first. If I hold the gas down it will rev all the way up to 6K. But if I get off the gas for a sec or two, it will shift into 2nd quietly and smoothly. It down shifts smoothly too. I can't figure this one out. On the freeway it acts normal going through 2nd-3rd-OD normaly, but if If punch the gas hard it just revs up to the limiter and won't shift untill I get off the gas and let the car roll. The car is not sluggish, it just won't shift under hard acceleration. I had the Tranny flushed and had a new filter put on but the problem persisits...Please help!!

This is a common occurrence with the A4 transmissions.

A temporary solution is to have your trans tuned to shift at a lower RPM point - it's hanging on to revs.

If this problem began BEFORE you changed the ATF and filter, then you will need to have your transmission diagnosed at a dealership.

Default Predator

I had my car dynotuned & he put the shift(wot) at 6200
maybe someone before you had it programed to shift at 6000(wot)
you can get the predator & program it to shift where ever you want.

Have them recheck the fluid level. If it is not low, then you have issues.

I had the same issue in the PU. The problem turned out to be a servo. As I had >100K miles at the time, I just had them rebuild the transmission.

How much $$$ will it be to have the tranny rebuilded?
