I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but I need some help. I'm looking at replacing the Goodyear EMT tires with Michelin Pilot A/S ZP tires. Is this a good decision or is there something better? Not into hard agressive driving. Use the car more for crusiing, its a '98 Vert. Thanks for any help.
Replacing the GY's with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S ZP's (runflats) was the best decision I've made with my 98. Not only are they much, much less noiser, they ride much better, require less steering effort and don't rut track and bump steer as bad as the GYs. I purchased mine from Discount tire Direct for $1088 incl shipping and had a local shop they reccommended do the mount & balance for $20/tire.

If you are just crusing keep the runflats they do make more road noise and ride a little stiffer but you never have to worry about a flat. If you did some sprited driving I would go to a non-runflat tire.
I've got a 98 also. The michelin's ZP are the best, but a bit pricey. Better ride. Matter of fact, I've ordered my second set for the wife's vete from the tire rack.

I have two C5's. One with GY's and other with Firestone RFT Firehawk and I perfer the Firestone way over the stock GY's. I only got 14k miles on the GY's first time and then went to the Firehawk and now they have 16k on them and they have 6/32 left on the rear and 6-8/32 on the fronts so I'm a happy camper there.
Michelin ZPs on my 2K coupe 6-spd...reason for switching was lower cost (compared to the stock Goodyears), better handling and (perceived?) longer tread wear...my vette is a daily driver...with the Goodyears felt like I was changing out tires every other year...already a year and a half with my ZPs and still have tread -- which should last my another year, year and a half...good luck
I went with the Kumho runflats cause i dont like the idea of taking up what little space i have with a spare and jack. The Kumhos run great. Smooth quiet, they handle great, and give a great ride. Plus I got a full set for $852 for the set delivered. I couldn't be happier
