I had my car dyno tuned, it had a base of 303rwhp & we wound up with 311.47rwhp. Also he had the shift point (wot) set to 6200 rpm.
he said that high of rpm wont hurt these motors.
Is he correct & are the final numbers good for stock.
Thanks

I'd say 311 with a stock A4 is pretty respectable.
I don't know about the 6200rpm shift though. Cosndiering there will probably be a little overshoot I'd be careful about going past 6000. You still have stock valve springs in there.....
I'm not an expert. JMHO. How much advantage could the extra 200rpm really give you though? Did he give you a dyno graph? What is your HP/Torque curve like at that RPM?
Id say 311 is pretty good, but the shift point seems to high at 6200 IMO, I think the shift point would be better at 6000, but JMO.

Not sure what year you have but the max hp is reached at 5600 rpm and max torque is at 4400 rpm. Can't see that you gain anything by spinning to 6200 rpm, but you are taking a greater risk of damaging your motor because one of the weakspots in the LS1 motors are the rod bolts. This is particularly true of the 97 - 00 vettes.
Those numbers are in-line with what I've seen before for a stock car. I have an '01 coupe. My rev limiter was set at 6200, I had it adjusted to 6500 when it was tuned. My tuner/mechanic told me that these motors can spin to 7000 w/o problems, but I won't turn it that high.
A good set of headers and exhaust will get you at least another 20 HP!!

I agree,
6200 rpm is asking for smashed valve springs.
I would rather my 2004 A4 shift at 5600 rpm.
And then there is always the dreaded piston slap that is prone to rear it's ugly head.
My car is a 2002 C5 (350hp)
I think I will turn the RPM's down a little.
When I plug the predator in, is it easy enough to get to that screen
to lower (wot) rpm shift.
