110,000 miles and no fuel filter replacement!? Surprised it hasnt been clogged up by now. If you have that many miles then you definitely need to get it changed. If it was a typo and you only have 11,000 miles on it then you dont really need one but wouldnt hurt to do it. Its not that hard of a job to do. Here is a tech article on how to do it.

You will need to relieve the fuel pressure @ the fuel rail. Disconnect the battery and will need the 5/16 fuel line release tool. If you aren't mechanically inclined this is not for you. Part # for 1999-04 is 10299146. Good luck and just have something to catch the gas when you release the three lines on filter.

I have an 03', I heard starting in 03', they put the fuel filter in the gas tank, is that true? wouldn't that make it really hard and expensive to replace it?

The '04's did this. I think towards the end of '03 for the '03 model might of had the filter in the tank also. Im sure someone else will chime in to varify that. And yes it would be very expensive to replace.
