Now that the weather is getting hot here, I've noticed my A/C seems to cool better on the passenger side than on the drivers. What causes this? Do I need more refrigerant? I'd like both sides to be as. Thanks for any help or tips.
Throwing any codes? Can't hurt to check them. Somebody may correct me if I'm wrong but I believe one possible sign of low refrigerant is cooler air on the passanger side. It just may be low on refrigerant. Checking the refrigerant and pulling codes would be the first things to do.
I'm going to check the refrigerant tomorrow, and see if the car has any codes. I also read on the forum that pulling fuse number 27 would reset the A/C diverter doors. Anyone used this ideal with any success?
Try that link. This guy seemed to really persue an AC problem so he hit all the possibles.
BTW, simple stuff (freon level, making sure the fins on the radiator are clean, checking when driving (rather than when standing still) . . .) often either clears up the problem or shows its not as bad as you first thought.
I have a spare control module. Is it a pretty easy changeout?
HVAC control module isnt that hard to replace. Under the panel behind the glovebox. Its to the back right if your laying on the floor looking up. I think its 5.5mm bolts. Take the bottom bold out and just loosen the top 2. unplug the two plugs and slide it right out. Its simple to do just a pain in the *** to get to.
