I bought one used on the forums for 80bucks. I actually just put it in today. It takes about 5secs to install it lol. I have yet to play with any of the settings but I love the fact i can lower the windows as i get close to the car. I have heard people being able to set the ac and radio to work as they roll down the windows. That would be nice during the hot summers here in CA. i honestly dont see any cons to a window valet.

About a month ago one guy claimed he didn't like his because it made it difficult to leave a window cracked on hot days. My thoughts on that were two fold,
#1
Leave a window cracked and don't push the lock botton but once when locking {It takes three pushes to activate valet} or
#2
Unplug the thing if you don't like it. The valet has to be the easiest mod to de-install.

I like mine, {subtle bling?}, and it allows the air to cool just a bit on hot days, and it makes the lowering of the top easier. {IMNSHO}

I just got one this spring - Love it! I was always skeptical about the "must have" claims I read on the forum, but it makes life with with a manual convertible top so much easier. There are a few ancillary features you can program as well, but these are of no value to me. So far I've had no problems of any kind with it. And if you don't use it, you'd never know it's there.

If I bought a used Vette, I would check to see if it had one installed before I bought one because you would never know.

Best little mod I have purchased on the C5. If the top is up on a hot day, I can get the windows down walking up to the car to start cooling it down. The biggest as noted above is after I put the soft top up, I don't have to climb in turn the key to put the windows up.

Southern Car Parts has promotions on them every couple of months and they are a supporting vendor. I would guess others sell them on this site as well.

I've had one installed on my 2000 for over a year. Love it!

I have come back to my car once or twice to unexpectedly find the windows rolled down. I attribute it to user error (probably pushed Unlock 3 times, when I thought I was pushing Lock and not looking back to verify).

So, my only recommendation - when you are expecting the windows to roll up automatically, stop, watch, verify they roll up and stay up - walk away.

I also like mine.
You may need a window adjustment. If your windows sense too much pressure on closing they will go back down.

I have one on my Vert that I purchased a year after I bought the car. Now I don't know how I ever lived without it. Real handy.
