Put in words like C5 Hurst shifter rattle and hit go...........and look at all the post there are regarding this issue. I realize this is your 2nd post, and so you may not know about the search function. It's a good tool to gather info in a hurry rather than waiting for members to reply to your specific request.
If you don't find an exact answer there is the TECH forum too.......
I've seen a lot of posts regarding the rattle so I'm sure you will be able to find some help in previous posts.

I have an 02 Z06 I put a Hurst short throw shifter in it and I get a rattle and vibration noise when the car goes past 3500 RPM.
Any sugestions to fix the Hurst or recomend another brand?
I'm curious how you installed it. I cut the metal ring off of the bottom of the shifter gasket and mounted it normally and use a Hurst classic shift ball with no issues at all.
Mine used to make a vibrating noise with the stock shift ****, then I put on a billiard shift **** on it and now no more vibration, I assume it has to do with the heavier shift ****.
From: Tinker till it blows... then back it off a notch, maybe!!

Could be in some cases
My shifter has never vibrated/rattled and I have had 4 different ***** on it.
I have a breathless shifter and a chrome MGW **** on top of it. The only time I have a vibration and noise is when I leave my hand on the shifter. Other than that its completely quiet.

I am with Stump5, I also recently installed a Hurst shifter and have a rattle. I rechecked the directions to make sure that I did everything corect, but I have the rattling problem too. I did not change the **** because I want it to look as stock as possible.
I am about to install the BM Shifter as the stock shifter seems tall and long. I hope I get the correct results in this Z06 Shifter Change Wish me luck with the install!!!!!!

dezertvett in Palmdale
Good luck with it
i assume that you have the NEW version which looks like it has the shift **** mount rubber isolated from the lower shaft?
I have the old style, which is just a solid 1 piece shaft, but I need another shifter for my other car, so....
please let us know how it works out for you.
Is the Hurst a 1 piece solid shaft?
I would prefer that, in case I want to cut it down
