I just picked up a used exhaust from a member and the satinless tips need a little work. What have you guys used that has worked well to polish out stainless tips and how did you do it!
They will be here in a few days so I want to get them cleaned up and on the car so I can post some pics.
I use Mother's aluminum polish and a little elbow grease...........they will look great again.....don't be concerned when your polishing cloth turns solid black.............that is the polish taking out the impurities in the metal.

That is what I use and I have to use it all the time as my FI setup gets the tips dirty quickly
suggest you use semi-chrome. It's available from motorcycle shops, works great!
That's amusing...i was just thinking about semi-chrome this morning and was wondering if it still exists. I use to buy it at Grand Auto (now extinct) stores and haven't seen it in awhile...it does work great...thanks I know where to go now.
Mothers, Heavy Metal, Simi Chrome etc will clean stainless up but they will not remove imperfections, stains, scratches etc like they will in aluminum. Stainless is way too hard.
Rouge and a canvas wheel is the way to go. You might have to play around a little with which rouge. I would say start with brown and hit it with green after. It will still take alot of work if the tips are in bad shape.
