Default Anyone using NAPA.............

Orbital O 6 Force Reactor battery?

I cannot find Optima Red Top in the boonies and AC Delco is not gonna cut it for me anymore.

I went to NAPA and the guy said that all their batteries are made by EXIDE. The battery I am looking at is called "Orbital O 6 Force Reactor" model number 9934/78 but it does not say EXIDE anywhere on it.

Is this the so called EXIDE Orbital that everyone is talking about?

Thoughts?

Did the case have six rounded humps on the side? If yes, than this is a spiral wrapped AGM battery and is probably the Exide Orbital.

The only AGM battery I am aware of that doesn't have these tell-tale humps is the new Sears AGM.

Noumi, live a little and get the yellow cased battery from Walmart... Um what's the name??? It works, it's got a three year free replacement warranty and it's a direct replacement... Besides, if it leaks, Oak will fix it for you... Ummm but you do have to get it down to his place though...

Of course, yours is a DD when you can drive, so maybe one of those "junk" Optima's would be OK... Have one shipped in!!

I know that you have one Oak... It's one of the only things I've ever seen you do that is Nah, kidding... I'll be the one crying someday... hope NOT!!

Yup, that's the Exide Orbital. I bought the same battery at NAPA only it said Exide on it in very small print on the back. The NAPA guy swore to me they only had X brand of batteries (not Exide), so he was surprised when I showed it to him. Personally, I think it's a better battery than the Optimas and the price certainly can't be beat.

Thanks Vaughn!

I have got two confirmations on this so far. I still cant believe this is the same EXIDE Orbital everyone is talking about as EXIDE's website shows completely different battery labeled "Orbital"

The guy at NAPA told me $144.99 + My AC Delco in exchange. Warranty is 24 months.

I need the 2 post battery because I need to wire my LC1 to the negative terminal for the ground connection and if this checks out, I will purchase it tomorrow

That looks EXACTLY like the Exide Orbital I was checking out at Batteries Plus the other day. Just different stickers.

I ended up spending an extra $40 for the Red Top just so it would match my fuel rail covers. Vette guys are nutz.

BTW, you might go to the Batteries Plus website and see if there's one near you. They have 290 stores around the country. They carry Exides and Optimas.

I think Exide hasn't updated it's website in a long time. It's not like they sell direct, so they've less motivation to do so. You should be able to do better than that. I got mine for $108. NAPA always has like 5 different pricing levels and they'll often try to stick it to you if you don't ask for the better price.
