Heres the scenerio, huge almost empty parking lot, i park in the middle of the lot, 100ft from any cars, return 15 mins later, lot still near empty, and surer than sh**, some a-hole had to park next to me, half the time its a mercedes. Damn that tees me off!
I don't worry about the Mercedes, or other "executive cars" they are just as concerned about door marks as we are....
I worry about those that are obviously owned/driven by people who don't car about the appearnace of their car... that are already showing signs of parling lot scrapes, dings, rust duct tape, primer paint etc etc..

I'd start thinking before parking next to any luxury car. Here in Florida, 99% of them are leased and the drivers (I resist calling them owner's, they never will be) think nothing of dinging the car next them, as they all assume everyone is leasing their car.

Yea, it always seem to be something like a 170,00 mile, beat-to-death Corolla that seems to park next to me. I look inside and see crap all over the interior, torn seats, parts on the floor... Man, it just kills me.
I usually try to be in the back of the lot and take two places. Works fine in big lots and I try to not park it where the crowd is and hope for the best and one of the reasons I have left on the body side moldings as they have been nicked several times when morons did park next to me and have that bang the nice car ego

They are also old and retired folks with canes and walkers that require
the doors be swung wide open!!!
On the flip side, I have intentionally parked next to nice, well cared-for cars. My thinking is that they will (hopefully) be more careful than the sheeple driving their turds around.
they know you don't want anyone to park next to you, so they do just to bust your chops.

I'd be careful about taking two spaces, no matter how far out you are. Where I'm from, when a car is parked in two spaces, people will drive up to it just to key it.

I'm glad to see it isn't just me. I park in the middle of nowhere. When I come out some POS that looks like it was featured in The Grapes Of Wrath is parked along side of me. Close besides me. Too fricking close.
Thanks for confirming it happens to other hapless Vette owners.
