looking for help with the front speaker housing. i hear that because of the way bose put their speakers together, they take up less room and that means that if you want to upgrade your system, then your speaker covers wont work on the new speakers. what are the solutions ya'll have done to overcome this? thanks for your help.
The Bose system actually takes up a lot of space behind the grills. I have a 6.5 a tweet and a crossover in the same spot the stock system is. I have seen some people putting 8" woofers there.
Post this in the audio section, you'll get plenty of help.
I just went through this, i put 8" Memphis M class components i bought here on the board in. They fit perfectly and have almost enough bass in them to not need a subwoofer!
Keep your door panel out of the way, or it will get dust all over it.
I was able to put a 7" and a 4" mid in there no problem. I relocated the tweeter behind the door pull but it could have fit with the components if I had wanted it too.
You should have no problem fitting most aftermarket components/speakers behind the factory grille. Check out the Audio/Electronics sub-forum.
This is where all the answers to all those questions live.
Personally,.....I don't understand listening to ANYTHING but that lady SING!!! I seriously stereo "modded" my wife's Mercedes for the times that I need to hear music
