Wow, that's wierd. My buddy's 2000 T/A locks and unlocks itself constantly. It's kinda funny. He gutted the car so we think he cut a wire somewhere causing a short lol.
Same problem here. I took out the battery in both FOBS and the problem stopped. However i dont have working FOBS now, there must be a problem internally in the car.

I've heard that when that problem occurs, the fob has the passive feature on. And it's doing what it's supposed to do. Walk away from the car, the car locks. Walk towards the car, the car unlocks. Of course, that's assuming the keys (fob) is in your pocket and not lying on the table or in a drawer.
I have a 97 and it happened to mine as well as the doors locking by themselves. It was the key FOB changed the battery and had no more issues. I actuall upgraded (alarms) anyway but no longer have the problem. check the batteries
