Pardon my ignorance, but I see two different types of rear windows on the c5.c6 coupes. What is the difference between the two models. These cars are rare down under so it is not something I am familiar with.
Thanks
Jeremy
Jeremy, what I think you're talking about only applies to the C5. All C6 coupes have the same rear window configuration.
On the C5, the standard coupe is a fastback configuration with a removable roof panel. This configuration was the original model released in 1997 and continued throughout the entire model run through 2004.
This is a C5 Coupe:
in 1999, Chevrolet released what is known as a "Fixed Roof Coupe". It has basically the same lines as a convertible but the roof does not come off. It's also known as a "FRC". Everything else is the same as the original coupe. An FRC is slightly lighter but is also slightly less aerodynamic (which is why the standard coupe is used in racing). Here is an FRC:
This continued in 2000. In 2001, Chevrolet introduced the Z06 package and placed in in the FRC. From 2001 - 2004, all FRC's were Z06's and vice-versa.
Hope that answers your question.

Thanks again, the C3 has only been in my posession for about 6 months. It is currently getting a new interior and top. Most important is a new AC, it is too hot to drive out here without it in summer.
I have just bought a 99 FRC and that should be in the country in a few months (the laws of importing are a real PITA out here) but I am really looking forward to having them both in the garage. Then I can get a 3rd and the missus' car can sit outside in the sun.
All I have to do now is work out how to tell her that another car is on the way - I may end up in the garage.
