Default Ok I need some help

I sold my '87 this April and am looking at getting a C5 Ive wanted one ever since I got the C4 but I just couldnt afford it back then. The thing is I dont know what to look for in a C5, the most I can afford is about $27000

is a zo6 possible with that kind of budget, what should I consider, I know I will end up modding the car so would a zo6 make that big of a difference if at some point im going to be changing the intake, cam, heads...etc

I also heard that in 2000 it had 350hp 350tq and in 2001 it bumped up to 385hp 385tq did they make a big changes with the engine?

I know ive been rambling hopefully you can make some sense of it...lol sorry

They didn't produce the C5 Z06 until 2001. Not sure about the torque numbers on the Z06 but the Z06 started out with 385 hp and was bump to 405 hp in 2002. $27K should be able to get you in a 2001 with decent mileage - not sure about an 02 Z06 for that price with low to decent mileage. But who knows. I'm sure somebody else would chime in.

2000 was 345/345

2001+ coupe/vert went to 350/375 w/mn6

for 27k, i'm sure you can find what you're looking for.

I cant decide on weather I should be looking for a standard c5 of a zo6, i like the zo6 but if i am going to be modding the engine a year down the road will I really benefit from getting a zo6?

I just sold the 86 last month and got a 02 Z06, I am keeping it stock and all I have to say is WOW what a difference I love this car. With your price range keep looking and you will find one might have to travel a little.
