Lifting the C5 Pictures
Hi,
Here are some pictures which help demonstrate how to use the ramps and crossmembers described here:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...g&forum_id=103
I've been meaning to post these pictures for awhile now. It's Father's Day and I can do whatever I want, so here they are.....
2 X 10 ramps with cut angles. Note long 3/8" bolt heads where they drop through into the holes drilled into the cement.
C5 driven onto ramps- I drilled holes into the cement to lock ramps into place.
2 X 6 Front Cross Member
2 X 6 Rear Cross Member
Front being jacked
Front on Axle Stands
Rear being jacked
Rear on jack stands

Nice write up. But I agree with largeitalian...there needs to be a block in the center of the forward and rear crossmember jacking support. If that breaks, or the jack breaks thru the hole you have drilled for it, you are going to have a few very exciting minutes.

There's a lot of support for the side when lifting the car, but not a lot of support when using the jack right in the middle. The wood may break in half taking you're cross member along with it.

You can lift it without the wood and not cause any problems. The wood may actually make it more dangerous.
