Default My CLB is in!!!

After a week of waiting, my CLB is in and installed!!! It was a pretty simple install, very straight forward. And now my vette is back in action, with no more locking column. Now I can drive my vette without worrying about getting stranded somewhere.

So far i've only had one small glitch. The day I installed the CLB, I went and had it washed (needed it bad from sitting uncovered for a week), went and bought a battery for the DD, drove home and parked the vette. As I was working on the DD, I heard a car alarm going off. After a couple minutes I walked up to the front of the house to make sure it wasn't the vette, and it was!!! I just used the remote to unlock it and it stopped. I started the car and everything was fine, no messages on the DIC. So since then it's been fine. I'm sure it was just a glitch or whatever.

But to all you vette owners without a CLB....GET ONE!!!!

Even if the recall was done, get one. The recall had been done at my vette before I bought it, and it still malfunctioned. You've been warned

Jason

Good move and good advice on getting the CLB. I had the first recall done but still installed the CLB on mine - no problems whatsoever.

I know this is probably one of the most asked questions on the forum...but here goes again -

I know a little about my car's history. A fellow member did a VIN search for me. It has had the "calibration reflash", and the harness replaced once at 34,000 miles. The car now has 46,000. Should I go for the CLB or do you think I'm safe now.

I would still get it. I thought I was safe since my car had the recall done before I bought it. It locked up a year ago, and i was able to get it unlocked, and didn't happen again until a couple weeks ago. What pushed me to do it, I was going to take my vette out of town to go to a wedding. But my girlfriend and I descided to take her Integra because for one it fit all of suitcases, and second it was a 500 mile round trip. It was when I got back home that I went to take the vette to get dinner and it locked up! So i would've been outta town up in the mountains, on a weekend, and had it lock up on me I don't what I would've done.

So GET ONE!!!! It's only $45.95.....come on now!

If you want peace of mind get the CLB. After I installed mine I never had to worry about the colum being locked whenever I turned the key.
What a great feeling.

I put mine in last week only after I got my C5 ready for Saturday and Sunday car shows then wouldn't keep running.
Had it sent next day air.

Like it has been said if you don't have one GET ONE before it's too late!
