My Vette had an electrical stroke...??
Got in the Vette yesterday, started like normal, however a couple things happened. First the seat went to an old memory setting from the previous owner, as did the mirrors. The AC automatically and the Security light was on steady. I know that using a key fob will bring back the owners previous settings, but I do NOT have any fobs, just the key. I know there is a way to disable the memory feature, but why did this happen? A possible short with the VATS system or maybe the ohm rating on the key is wigging out?

Why disable it? I would suggest programming your own memory settings (you do not need a FOB to do this, just set things the way you want them, then press and hold the memory button you want to assign them to), and getting a FOB or two...
PS - I believe you need a Tech II tool to disable the memory feature
