My father-in-law had cancer and some how he has miraculously survived 7 years now. I thought he was a gonner for sure but with new treatments for cancer he's doing fine at 77

That's almost exactly what I was going to post after I read the post.
Being a cancer survivor myself (going on 3 yrs ) I'll tell you attitude is the key - there will be good days & bad, but you keep the faith, & the love of your family - and it will be fine.
