Default Rock guards mud flaps YES? or NO?

How many use rock guards on your Z's?, for those that do whats the best and most attractive to use? I don't like the looks but my car only has 1000 miles and the paint behind the wheels already has dings and chips and looks really bad.

I was tormented by the same question after I bought my Z. I did not like the look of mudguards, so I bought that clear plastic stuff from http://www.xpel.com and had it applied behind the wheels. It protects the area well, but still allows tar and road debris to fly all over the car which is a pain to clean everytime I drive it.

I use a set that Ecklers makes requiring no drilling. It is a tradeoff thing. The car definately looks better without them, but the guards offer some protection.

When I take my car to the track, my Hoosier race tires will pelt the side of the car with anything they run over. Cleartastic looks better, but won't stay on at 100+ MPH. I decided to sacrifice some look for protection. It is a tough choice.
