Default Cops put on stop on street racing Article

I was reading this article when I notice the 18 year swearing his 350HP Integra can beat a Corvette. I don't think the kid ever race any of the Corvette forum members before...LOL

Just a quick FYI, he could

Not me and not you, but minimal modded vettes have a very good chance of getting taken down

Any given sunday.....

Just cause we have the HP, doesn't guarentee a win. Same holds true for him though as well.

While I disagree with street racing, crushing people's cars seems a bit extreme to me.....I'll add it to the long list of reasons I never want to live in CA.

Hoang said he was caught late last year racing his prized car on which he spent at least $10,000 to get into top shape. The 350-horsepower engine topped out at 160 mph, Hoang said, swearing it could beat a Corvette or even a Ferrari.
Zavala, who admits he's been involved in street racing, estimates he and his mother spent about $10,000 to make improvements to his car.
I guess that if you put 10K into mods you can make a Honda or an Acura fast enough to beat a stock Vette.

Put 10K of mods into a Vette and woah Nellie!

I wish my mom gave me 10K to mod my Corvette Cannot see myself asking my parents for that sum of money to mod a car.

Yes, I do agree that a 350HP Integra can beat SOME Corvette ( stock, monor mods etc) , I DO NOT think he can take on a C6 Z06 or any heavily modded Vette on the forums.

Power to weight ratio boss

A CX hatch with that much power and stickies will be way into the 11s

Mine went 11.18 hence why I know

the most important mod to a car is the driver.

The problem is that his claims are probably using fuzzy ricer math and in reality he maybe had 200 at the wheels...

No no, stickers don't add horsepower, and the NOS sticker should have a kit to back it up...

Okay, why are you so bent out of shape?

They had cars with stolen parts, and were crushed. I have no sympathy for them at all.

If you want to take his horsepower claims at face value, then that is on you.

For validation purposes, yes a 350whp Integra would be faster than a stock Corvette.

Hmmm? I'm willing to be, no matter how much money he puts into his Integra, it'll never look or sound like a Corvette.

That's tooo funny, Mommy put $10K into that car and now it looks like a Snow Shovel on wheels.

Actually it probably is more like the size and shape of a footlocker...

to me arguing about what car is faster is silly, you can make any car fast, i bracket race to take the car out of the argument, the better ? is who is the better driver? I also say a vette looks better than most and stock is plenty fast enough!

some of you guys are too funny. talking trash about a 18 year old kid because he has an integra that he fixes up and doesnt have a corvette so that some how makes the kid inferior to you guys. he may have different taste than you guys in the car he wants but at least he has a passion for cars. and whats even funnier is that in a race he would probably beat 90% of the cars on this board

It only cost me a $300 tune to get 313 RWHP......

That was before I added the CAI, headers, hi flows, X pipe and Corsas that brought me to 348 RWHP

He spent $10,000 to get 350HP (at the crankshaft) and there are people here saying he would smoke a stock or slightly modded Vette?!?!?!?

I highly doubt it..... Besides, he says he topped out at 160. I've been above that and it didn't cost me $10,000 to get there

Eight cylinders are still eight cylinders..... Don't believe me, talk to "Newton"....

(BTW.... The high speed hood seal was just the ticket to get me over the 350 rwhp mark...... )
