Ill start with a little backround info....I am a college student on summer break and had to leave my car in storage in AZ. I have been in Chi for about a month (vetteless!) and all I see EVERYWHERE are vettes. This is honestly the most populated vette area I have ever been in. So number 1, do you chicago guys realize how many vettes are floating around here? It would be like a "wave" every two seconds if I had mine out here. Number 2, all these vettes are making me miss mine waaay to much. And 3rd, just wondering what everyone thinks of 911's. I am staying with some relatives during my internship out here and i get to drive a 99 manual 911 quite a bit...I like it for sure, but I would rather be in my vette!!! just my 2 cents....
sorry for rambling on, but I truly am amazed at how many vettes I see daily..and its killing me!
Hi Maites I live in Chicago and yes there are vettes everywhere I agree with you on that. As far as the 911's they are underpowerd and overpriced. And just a FYI when I was looking to buy one (6/mo ago) I called this one on cars.com it was a private sale and I asked the guy why he's selling his 911 (This is obviously before I bought my vette I was debating 911 or Vette) and the guy told me that he traded his vette for this and he wants to go back to a vette. Have a nice day. By the way how do you like Chicago.
I live in Chi burbs and recently bought my FIRST corvette ever in March this year. Went to the FIRST corvette car show ever, Bloomington Gold here in IL last weekend. I was amazed at the number of corvettes I saw .. and surely more than 80% were IL plates and I thought I had a rare car BUT all the corvette's at the show, all generations were taken very very good care of and again, I thought I was the only one washing my car and wiping the tires after each ride. For one thing, you will find the best of the best vettes in the Chi area. Sorry, no comments on 911's.
this reminds me of another thread about why ppl dont wave back. When u see that many vettes around like u see honda civic u get used to it and dont feel the need to wave anymore.
That's my reason, and a bunch of the Chicago Crew's good reason to mod the hell out of our vettes, so ours will stand out from the rest It's kind of funny because I know some of the Vettes that are modded better than I know the people that drive them
If you are here in December or January though, we go vettless due to all the gdam salt trucks
just so you all know, I love chicago regardless of the vette scene....great city, great nightlife...and no better time to be here then summer. Winter time would def keep the vette in the garage though. as for the 911 thing, yes i agree they are a bit over priced but still a great car. Just somthing about a vette that really gets me goin. I prefer being behind that big front hood i guess...oh and by the way, i'm only in chi for another week and a half then back home to the DC area...my vette still awaits my return to AZ in the meantime...however, dads got a c6!!! looks like ill be in heaven again shortly

check out and see whats going on here. There is a small group of us that usually go out together on the weekends. I know what you mean about being vetteless. I am right now cause of my car being at the shop for over 2 weeks now. What makes it harder is that we have had beautiful weather here except for one rainy day in the past 2 weeks. I've found myself working on other peoples vettes to compensate for not being able to work on mine
