Look at post #6 in the link above. There is a ContiCorvette comparison showing all 8 wheel options for 2008 (4 for base coupe/convertible and 4 for Z06). I really like the standard split spoke in silver. Does anyone know how that would fit on a C5 coupe?
I assume as the wheel mod bug hits some of these C6 guys there will be some of these 2008 wheels available. These factory wheels usually weigh quite a bit less than the aftermarket replicas. Hopefully they will fit the C5 with no modifications.
Could one of you photoshop gurus do a quickie of the silver split spoke wheel (QG6) on a C5 coupe (preverable a navy blue one)?
Thanks

Those new "gumby" wheels are actually the lightest ones of the bunch, as they are forged instead of cast.
They actually do not look bad at all when you see a few more pics of them. That fuzzy picture above does not do them justice. If I were ordering a new C6 I'd get them for sure. (just for the weight savings alone)
Does anyone know about fitment issues for these wheels on a C6 Coupe? What about the bolt pattern?
Does anyone have any opinions about this wheel on a C5 (like the one pictured on the blue car in the above post)? I think it looks good. If I got these I would just paint the center caps Navy Blue to match my car and then put a silver C5 logo on it.

Bolt pattern will be the same and the fitment shouldnt be a problem either. The sizes should be the same as the '05-'07 base C6 wheel, which will fit on a C5.
For C5 Coupe guys running base C6 wheels are there any rubbing issues at all (for 18/19s vs 17/18s). I assume that since this is the base C6 wheel Goodyear already makes a GS-D3 that fits.
I don't think C6 wheels will fit on a C5 properly without spacers. I'm sure there are a few guys on here who have them and will chime in with more details.
Opinions are mixed concerning whether spacers or adapters are needed to mount the C6 rear wheels on a C5. There appear to be no problem with the front wheels. Some report that they have done it without using spacers while others have experienced problems with the rear tires rubbing the inside wheel wells. I have made some measurements of the C6 wheels, versus the C5s, and found that, due to the different offset, the C6 rear wheel sets a full 3/4 inch inward toward the wheel well. This makes for a really close fit. When measuring the distance from the mounting surface to the outside of the wheel, the C5 sticks out !/4 inch further than the C6. So, it would appear that the best solution would be to use a 1 inch adapter, which would place the mounted C6 rear wheel in the same position as the original C5.

You are correct. C6 wheels have much more positive offset than C5's, thus pushing the wheel too far inside the wheel wells.
I've seen these in person twice now, once on a Vette rolling down the line in Bowling Green during a plant tour at Cruise In and last weekend at Bloomington Gold. I don't think I really care for them.
with a 1" spacer you'd also need longer wheel studs.
Don't think you would want to use this wide a spacer since, even with longer studs, you would put too much strain on them. A better choice would be an adapter, which bolts on to the existing studs and has its own integral studs on which the wheel is mounted.
