Ebay HID kit vs. others
Coming from a Newbie standpoint I dont know what the difference is between Kits being sold on Ebay vs. Kits being sold by a vendor on this forum.

now there IS a difference between the "bulb swap" HID kits and the ACA projector HID housings.....
I can tell you without hesitation, the light (I got the 6000k bulbs) are far superior to the Toshiba HIR bulbs which many here have swapped out after trying Slyvania Silverstars and various other combinations of trying to find a decent way to light the road ahead - a major problem all us seem to have on the C5 headlights.
I agree though, the Flea-Bay $144 shipped bulbs are just that.. They are true HID bulbs with ballasts and very high intensity bulbs. I've had no problem with them yet AND have no complaints from others flashing me thinking I am blinding them thinking I've got the high beams on..
Now, having said all of this, there are those that will bad-mouth this kit till pigs fly. Granted, they are NOT HID systems, but the best dang alternative on the cheap for FINALLY getting acceptable lighting out in front of the car, and without blinding oncoming cars or cars in front of me.
Even put it to the test. Had my kid ahead and he said no big deal, then we got on opposing (head on) and said it was a little brighter, but was in no way 'blinding' nor did he think I must have had my bright lights on.
Your choice - My vote is "best thing I've found yet" short of very expensive "true HID conversion kits".
Good Luck

I have the 6000K Fogs, and 6000K Low beams. They are the BOMB !My install + pics at night

The ones I bought from an ebay vendor work great, but you do have to flash it to brights before the doors will retract. As often as I drive in the dark, this's no biggie to me. The light is WAY better, and I got mine for $120 shipped. There was a thread about changing a couple of the fuses from 10, to 20 amps, that would solve the door problem, but it didn't work for me.
Once they are installed next weekend I will post some pics.

You do not want HIDs for high beams. The problem with HIDs is they take a while to heat up and produce a full light beam. This problem is why you do not want them for your high beams. One good thing about the projector kits is they give you a wire bridge to go to a 4 light system when you use the high beams. This ensures when the high beams come on and then are shut off the HIDs stay lit the entire time. This ensures that you are not driving in the dark when you switch between low and high beams. I can offer this experience because my DD 2003 Blazer has the bulb swap HIDs, and my vette had the projector kit from ACA.
