I was wondering if there is a mod out there that I could buy for an automatic roof for my vert, this came to my attention when the other day I was driving down 15 where there are no areas to pull off other than scattered streets and a storm came through and started pouring on me. It was a pretty big inconvenience to have to get out of my car to put the roof up and get back in and have my seat be wet. So I was just wondering if they made a mod to allow you to put the roof up when at a stop light? Thanks for the help
Haha I know that it takes like no time to do and its really not that hard, I'm just lazy I guess... I tried to drive faster so that when the rain drops it would hit my windsheild and miss my head, but it gets kind of dangerous with wet roads (bad tire tread) and other cars in front of me I havnt seen them advertised either I was just wondering if any one else has. Thanks anyways

I haven't seen a kit for that purpose that maintains the soft top, but there is a kit that makes it a automatic hardtop convertible.
I personally think you'd get wetter with the auto top, as it probably takes 2x as long to get the top up.JMO
Just drive fast until you find an overpass to duck under. The rain will blow over the windshield, if you keep moving, but hail won't. Ask me how I know.
If you were at a stop light, you had MORE than enough time.
I know thats more than enough time but the chinese fire drill is illegal, can't leave a started car and theres alot of cops around here. And I wasn't at a stop light I had to drive until I found a street I could pull into.

I doubt that a Leo would have ticketed you for stopping to put your top up. You can easily do the routine in less than one minute, including getting out of and back into the car.
you'd probably get less wet with a power top because as soon as it starts sprinkling you put it up, whereas with a manual top you keep putting it off hoping it's just a drizzle that will let off, then it downpours and you're soaked. That's exactly what happened to me last week with my coupe, kept putting off putting the roof on, wasn't a good idea.

Exactly, every two seconds I would be looking at the black clouds that are rolling in hoping I could get home before the skies open up
