Default Need new rims help

I just got a set of C6 (non z06) rims. The person I got them from said they were on his 99 with no spacers/adaptors. I went to put them on my 98 today and the backs touch the inner well. They have to be pulled out at least 3/4 to an inch. I got spacers and that brought the wheel out but I could not thread a lug. Does anyone know someone who can custom make adaptors or tell me what they have done to solve this issue. Is there an offset difference between 98 and 99?

Thanks, Joe

Due to the difference in offset, the C6 rims set a full 3/4 inward, toward the wheel well, as compared the C5 rims. It is not surprising that you are experiencing a problem. To make them fit, you would need adapters, rather than spacers. A 1 inch adapter would place the face of the C6 wheel at about the same position as the C5 rim. Adapters are available with thicknesses of 1 inch to several inches. Several suppliers sell them on ebay and others can be found by searching "wheel adapters" on yahoo.

Thanks for the input. I checked ebay and there isn't much for adaptors at the moment. I was hoping to find someone that knew where to have them made.

Take them back, get your money, and forget about spacers/adapters. And get something that FITS. IMHO

vette, I already got money spent on this plus it would cost for me to reship them back so I could be out a couple of hundred bucks if I did that. Plus I love these dang rims .
