04 C5 Body Question
I wentto purchase an 04 corvette yesturday and I was really looking closely everywhere and I saw that the hex bolts that hold the fenders on looked as though they had been removed and reinstalled. ( They are black bolts as you guys and gals know, but they were shiny silver around the edges where the hex bit installs.) I have never seen fender bolts on an "unwrecked" car have any marks on them. But this is my first C5 experience. Am I wrong? If the car has never been wrecked should the hex bolts have any paint missing on them? If factory installed them shouldn't they still be all black. I know this seems pretty **** but a vette is big investment and I do not want to buy a wrecked vette. The car only has 1800 miles on it and it does have a clean carfax, but we all know carfax is not a guarantee if it was repaired at a private shop. I have removed hex bolts and rarely do they look like they have been removed. Unless this is the way they came from Bowling Green? If someone could go look under their hood closely at the fender bolts that would be a large help. Thanks again . James

get a car fax done and it should tell you the history of the car. i'm with you on being picky about my cars. don't buy it unless you're comopletely satisfied.
