Launching ?
Heading for the Pittsburgh Raceway 1/4 track on Wed.
My question is should I launch in first or second gear ? MN6. I have read some post on starting out in second gives a better start. Is that true??

No doubt 1st... Just heat your tires up first and drop the air pressure about 10 pounds in the rear....
Good Luck!

No one launches in second at the strip. No one. Ever.
I know someone in your other thread suggested you check out Ranger's sig for his launch technique. I'd second that. G/L

My question is, with my A4 and the traction control on it bogs down for a second when I hit the gas. With the traction control off it's a wild beast. What's the best approach when launching?

I think the best advice I read is just launch like your leaving a stop light fast. Of course read Rangers articles he shares more of his knowledge than anyone else on the forum. If you want to get the best out of your car then the only way is seat time and practice. Have a good time that's what it's all about.
