Default I made the step!!

I started the ball rolling on a 1800 mile 04 Yellow Z06 corvette. Going through Bank of America so it will take about a week to finalize everything. Can't wait to go get it next week! I can't wait to put some high quality wax on it and cruise it around town. I will post a few pics when I get her home!!! And what I am really happy about is that my wife encouraged this purchase. It was funny how I wanted one really bad then I found the perfect one and then I was looking for reasons not to buy it. I even decided not to buy one. Then my wife and I talked about alot of things including the Z06. After our talk it just felt right and that it is going to be a an enjoyable asset for my wife and I. I guess my college degree finally paid off! Talk to everyone later!!!!!!

That is it. History of the car. One owner 1800 mile car from Scottsdale Arizona. The guy owns an off road tour company. He works 7 days a week. He also doesn't get around really well and told me that he hasn't had time to drive it and actually hasn't driven it in two years. He also told me that it really bothers him to get out of the car. Car has been kept in a garage its whole life. I am paying $38,500 for the car with 3/36 left on it, but I will be doing a extended warranty next week when I pick it up. I was looking to go cheaper but all of the cheaper cars were really high on mileage and WEAR AND TEAR. Its amazing how much wear some people can put on a car in 15k-20k! And even those cars were $35,000. And being in Arizona we do not pay sales tax when you buy a used car from a private party so it was just like paying $35000 from a dealership for a used on with 15k-20k once you add 7.6% tax and all of those dealer fees. Plus I figured it was better to get an unmolested car so I can have a long enjoyable run with it. And I just read a few weeks ago on here that it is better to pay alittle more for a really nice car. And I think I did ok. Of course cheaper would have been better!! Not sure if I will have any gremlins since it was sitting so long, but I figure its under GM warranty so I will be able to get everything taken care off. Its kind of a funny story, I was originally going to get a 06 GTO with the 0% financing and my GM employee discount.( Thanks DAD!) So I took my wife to check them out and she told me that it looked like our 2000 cavalier we bought when we got married. She then saw a C5 corvette and said " now that is a bad *** car!" So we went and test drove a used 04 Yellow Z06 and she was in heaven. She even said " why would you pay 30k for a car that looks like our old cavalier when you coud spend alittle more and have this." Well I spent alittle more than alittle more and I will be picking up our Z06 next Friday. I am just trying to decide if I want to fly down to Scottsdale and drive it back or do I want to haul it back? I will probably drive it back. Its a nice drive from North Phoenix to Kingman AZ. As soon as I get it I will post some pics. I can't wait to bring her home and give her a good coat of wax!!! I am ecstatic!!!

The car is worth every penny that the owner was willing to sell it for and you were willing to pay for it. Drive it home and leave teeth marks in the road all the way home with the big grin you will have on your face.

I bought mine new over the internet way back in April 2002 from a dealer in Michigan [had it shipped down to New Mexico], because all the dealers here wanted to tack $8000.00 over list.

Welcome to the Z06 family.

Sounds like a great car. I went through the same process about 5 months ago on a 04 Z06 with 9700 miles. No regrets, you will really enjoy the car and your decision. Good Luck!

I agree, have had mine now for about a year and a half. She's and 03 that I found in Ohio with 3800 miles on the clock. Have not regretted buying her for one minute. It's a great day when you have a long time dream become a reality. Congrats!

Thanks again everyone. Alittle frustrated today that the paperwork I needed to sign and overnight to the buyer came with the incorrect information and adressess and the loan rep from Bank of America was not in today! Always something huh? Weirdest thing with Bank of America Kingman Arizona you have to apply on line and then do everything over the phone with an out of state loan rep. What ever happened to just taking care of it at the bank in a day or two? Never had these issues with other banks. I will find out tomorrow if I can just do everything through Bank of America in Scottsdale AZ. I really do not like the mail game. It should be, I get approved, then buyer and seller go into the bank I sign a couple papers he signs whatever hands over titleto loan officer and they hand him the money and I drive away. But I haveto sign power of atty for a title company, he has to sign power of atty, sign the loan docs, he has to mail the title in with out payment yet and just a promisary note. Just doesn't seem like something that should be done out of the bank setting. interest rate was different on two different pages, fees were on there as well that were never told to me. Anyway I will be making a call tomorrow morning. Good thing I am off Fri and Sat now. Small price to pay for a Z06!!!!

Hope it works out and you're able to scoop it up (at 1800 mi , it's begging to be driven). Hang in there, there's others out there too.

You got a good price on that, man. I ran across its twin with 900 miles on it 6 months ago. Seller wanted $44k for it. I walked. I told my wife that I would pay $38. Interesting. You need to look at GMPP for that while it is under GM warr. If you buy GMPP with fewer than 24k miles on your car, it is cheap, especially if you take advantage of couple of preferred vendors here who sell GMPP at a discount.

If car already has GMPP, then you need to change it to your name. That works of car has 3 months left on orig warr and 3000 miles left on orig warr. Watch out for that 3 months--time flies. Cost for an additional 36/36 will be about $700 after discount. 000 Deductible--the only way to go. Price diff is less than $150.

Welcome to the Yellow ZO6 club!
Love mine and looked all over for it.....love every second from cleaning it to running it!
Just my advice, get a fake hand to stick up the dash to wave to fellow vette owners! Its like a secret club hand shake....and if tehy dont wave at ya.....they are YELLOW ZO6 ENVY!
Now.......the fun part comes in.....all those nice body/motor nods!

I decided to move on to another one. I will be driving to Palm Springs Ca area. Blk on BLK 03 with 6k on it. Sometimes when things seem weird or you get an uneasy feeling it is best to step away when it comes to a car. Not thrilled about Black, but for a weekend warrior it will be easier to care for. I would rather have yellow but the key is to have a Z06 regardless of color. I will keep everyone up to date.
