[Z06] Shift Insert Keeps Popping Out

Mine (02 Z) popped out once on a hard 2-3 at the track. The piece is a tension fit. I was very careful to center the piece again in the shifter and press down firmly. Never came out again. Good luck.

Mine comes out every now and then, but only in the winter. As Ranger said, it's a tension fit. If you don't plan on changing it out any time soon, maybe you can put a very small drop of super glue underneath it.

Mine does the same thing. I can press as hard as I want, but it doesn't stay in for long. I think the fit isn't great or the plastic lost some spring / rigidity to keep it firmly seated. I plan on trying to put some tape on the side of the cap to help fill some space, which might help. Other than glue, don't know what else to do. Could also try velcro, but then youd have to fill the cap with something first; maybe a think piece of foam tape or something. I figure as soon as I glue the cap in place, I'll need to take it off.

Put a wrap or two of black electrical tape on it. Once you fill the gap a little better it should stay in place for you. Do not use glue or you will tear up your **** the next time you want to take it out. Don
