Default 2004 Z-06 Headlights

I wonder if anyone has had this problem. While replacing the right front turn signal bulb, I turned on the headlights to get at the offending bulb. When I finished the headlight doors(correct term?) wouldn't lower. I did manually lower them and now they will not open again. I've checked and replaced all of the fuses, although they continuity checked good, including the headlight circuit breaker in the inside use box. I have power going to the disconnects for the lights/motors on top of the inner fenders, however, no action. I know that there is the possibility of worn/bad gears, however, would I be able to manually wind them open if bad? Looking for ideas on what to try next. Does this circuit run through a computer that needs to be reset? I haven't disconnected the battery yet, might that reset a fault. Thanks for any replies......

Sounds like a short.

Pull out the signal bulb you just installed and see if everything works again.
