I say if they like it, that is all that matters. Originality is a good thing. Just because it doesn't fit someone elses idea of "right" doesn't mean it is wrong. May not be to might tastes, but they didn't do it to my car, they did it to their car. More power to them.... I remember when I didn't have the money for a high dollar sports car and got a real kick out of low dollar mods, some of which were attributed to the state due south of mine, such as _________ air conditioning (rolling the windows down). I am glad to see not all mods are preapproved by the masses, that is what makes our cars, street rods and rat rods so cool. When you need permission to mod your car your way...... it's time to get a different brand. Like the one member said "that's why they make chocolate and vanilla".

While I understand what you are saying...I've never understood responses like this because this is not a matter of the owner needing permission. This is simply a case of people saying that the mod / wing / etc. looks like s**t.
It is sort of like "freedom of speech". People have the right to say most anything they want to say; however, that does not mean that certain speech will not and cannot have consequences. One of those consequences might be that people disagree or think that the speaker is an idiot. You can't win them all. [SIDE NOTE - I am compelled to mention that 1st Amendment rights are generally not an issue unless the government tried to limit speech. In that sense my example is bad]
Anyway, this has nothing to do with needing permission from other Vette owners. Please understand that my post is not really a direct response to your post, although I quoted you. This is also inspired by the many other posts in many other threads where people simply indicate assert that "it is X person's car and they can do as they please." Sure they can...and some people will think that they have horrible taste.
For example...half of the people that see my all black wheels tell me they look like crap. I've never felt like they were suggesting that I needed permission or "Corvette community" support to have black wheels. They just think that I have horrible taste. They may be right.

even an added on wing can't change the fact that the car is 100% awesome Corvette...
...so why does everyone focus on the one little thing they don't like while overlooking the overwhelming amount of stuff they love?
and as a general comment (not directed at anyone) What I've seen on this Forum is that there are Corvette loving people that would disagree with the owner of the beautiful Vette above because he added screens to his coves, changed his wonderful factory wheels to polished aluminum wheels and changed his finely tuned factory exhaust to Borla... and they ask, what ever was he thinking making mods to his car... What? Some mods are acceptable... while others are not??? Oh, I understand now... it is a matter of personal opinion.... that explains a lot... you know what they say about opinions I also learned that what people post about these things does absolutly nothing to change anyone else's opinion about any of these things.... but we live for the drama, don't we boys?
