Default Advice Please

I have a bone stock 01 A4 w/ 2.73's. I'm looking to mod the car enough to run a 12-0 quarter while maintaining comfortable local and highway driviability. I realize I may give up something in the way of comfort, but I want to minimize the impact on everyday driving as much as possible. Obviously cost is a factor, and I'd like to stay out of the bottom end of the engine. I would also like to stay away from supercharging or turbocharging.

Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated. Last car I did this to was a 68 Cougar GT 390 - but things are a little different these days.

You guys are really great and I enjoy reading the advice you offer.....thanks.

Long Tubes headers, a nice tune and 3.42 rear would be a great way to get the car into the mid to low 12's

Heads and cam and you should see 12.0

Changing out the gearset alone will really make a difference in the off the line response.

Yea, I forgot to mention the intake. Dam it's been so long since I did all this stuff, I sometimes forget some of the integral parts..

The High Stall converter is certainly a good idea too.

Just got under the car, after doing all the research on the rear you guys suggested. I assumed 2.73's but the car actually has the performance 3.15 rear. Never tracked it, but by the looks of everyone elses 1/4 e.t's it looks like it would run in the high 12's.

Is it still worth 3.42's and a 3000 stall converter, or should I just go for the head/cam package, LT headers and obviously the intake? I'm looking for 12 flat.

I talked to Chris at ECS today, and they could do the work within 2 weeks -I got the itch to do something, what do you guys think?

I feel like as *** for assuminig -Thanks.
