About 8 years ago I was drving from Tallahassee FL to Albany, GA along a nice long section of highway and I decided to see what my little civic could do. It took me a while but I made it to about 125 and noticed some car flying up behind me, it was a local cop. I was shaking so bad (I just knew I was going to jail), anyway, he asked why I was shaking and stuff. He never clocked me but knew I was speeding and he let me go. I wasn't so lucking the next time I tried it a little further up the road. I got a pulled over for 93 in a 55 by a state trooper and he gave me a ticket.
Here is my close call, not in my vette this is when I was still in school a few years ago. My brother and I carpooled to school and I ended up having to wait over 3 hours for him on this particular day so I was a little steamed , come out to the car and see a post it note, someone had hit the car and took off, but the witness left the cars plate number and their contact info very .
So we proceed to leave, and I am really going cuz I was ticked about having to wait and about the car being hit. So we proceed to go down the road which is always emptly except for when cops wait to get cars speeding this happens to be one of those days. I would usually spot the cops and slow down but that day I just didn't have my focus and didn't spot the cop until it was too late. I see the cop car in the middle and hit the brakes knowing already that I am a gonner. The limit on the road is 80km/h, looked at the HUD on the grand prix and was at 132km/h. As soon as I saw the car I was pulling over and was on the side of the road before the cop had even turned around. I got clocked at 121km/h.
I gave her my license and registration and told here that the car had been hit earlier in the day and was just trying to make sure nothing was wrong with the car. She came back a few minutes later and told me to keep the racing on a track and have a nice day.
Pulled over!!! Just four times this year alone. No tickets. The last stop Lt. Young asks why was I speeding. "Because I didn't see you." I replied. He laughed and let me go with a verbal.
Hope I do this one justice: Many, many years ago my buddy, a cop, was squireing a Nevada State Highway patrol officer around. The state trooper was here in Hawaii teaching the local cops how to make a "proper" traffic stop. Now mind you, the Nevada State Trooper is in his Nevada State Tropper uniform.
They spot a drunk driver so my bud "blue lights" him. The Nevada tropper steps out, followed by my friend a few feet behind him. Now the trooper steps up to the drunks car and said, "Good evening sir. Sgt Smith, Nevada State Highway Police." Drunk looks up at him and says, "F*@K, brah, I wen make one wrong turn." Only in Hawaii.
My friend swears this is true......................
5yrs ago I was driving down 294 South from Gurnee to Chicago (for those of you that live in IL) I was doing 89 on the highway (55mph) and I get pulled over from a state trooper. I was in a Mercury Sable and the officer said to me and I remember it exactly what he said. He said Sir your doing 89 in a 55 and I said I know I am sorry I just left work and want to go home. Then he said and you dont have your seat belt on and I said I know. He then said thats a mandatory court appearance I just kept knodding my head saying I know I am sorry. He told me he will reduce the speed so it doesn't look to bad infront of the judge and I said thanks I appreciate it. He came back with warning for the speeding but gave me a ticket for the seat belt. Thats my story thanks for reading.
From: 90% of all Fords are still on the road.....the other 10% actually made it home!
I don't have any good "close call" stories to tell,.......and that's because I "ALWAYS" do the speed limit and "NEVER" drive fast. (going fast scares me)
i was going about 130 on the freeway....(this jerk was tailgating me) so was trying to lose him....but he stuck to me......finally got away from him...then he pulled in the shoulder and turned on his strobes......hewas in a black suburban and he was a drug cop (street clothes)...well he ask me what the hell i was doing....i told him that i had an experince with a guy pulling a gun on me before thst was following me.....and i got scared so was trying to get a away from him....he said get out of here.....didnt even look at my license
Exact same thing happened to me. Also an unmarked car. Got away because I told the officer that I thought it was my wife's car following me Just kidding- haven't been pulled over yet-so far.
