Default Help with a droopy rear view mirror

It seems the everytime I hit the slightest bump in the road, my rear view mirror heads south. I have looked and there is not any type of adjustment, just a ball joint. Any ideas other than replacement?
Thanks

Sorry couldn't resist!

You might take it off and look at the back side of it to see if there is a way to tighten the area around the ball - like a slight crimp.

view of the backside of the C5 mirror... no aparent adjustment point...

Perhaps cleaning spray on the backside of the mirror had made this a slippery fit instead of a friction fit??

Adjust the mirror so the rod sits at a different angle but still supplies you with the vision needed. I raised mine all the way up and turned the shaft a bit so the friction is on a new location which seems a bit tighter, dont know if that made sense.
