I bought a bare block from a forum member, he shipped it. had tracking number and now it has "disappeared"! Member says he is going to refund my money, but i still dont have a block. Anyone/tuners got a takeout they would part with?
How in the hell do you "lose" an engine block? Was it insured? If it had a tracking number, it should show up eventually. Good luck.
must have had the tag fall off it or something. but...... then there is this huge engine block just sitting there they must have one huge sorage facility for their lost and found depertment. could you imagine trying to figure out what all the stuff is for when they have to sell the stuff off after a while. i had a big box of electrical things come to me from GE when i had a repair man order a light bulb for my oven. i had to use google to try and figure out what it was. turned out to be 13 commercial gas dryer igniters. at $67 each. i cant get fed ex or the repair man to take them back. i wrote a letter to the GE company at the address they where shipped from and they have not responded either 13x$67= $871 and nobody has missed them or will take them back ?? some of these big companies can lose big dollar items and no one really seems to care. except the guy who has his engine block missplaced by one of them
Man that stinks, what a stand up seller to refund your money, he actually has to initiate the claim with FedEx to recover his money, do not ask me how I know.
FedEx once lost a complete 8 rib pulley kit that I sold to another forum vendor Somehow they managed to destroy the box and they said that it is likely sitting in their lost and found facility. Now losing a complete engine block... THAT takes skill!

Fedex recently lost a portable garage I bought from Harbor Frieght HF reshipped it and seeing the size of it, you have GOT to be blind as bat to loose that thing

Someone else wrote recently that FEDEX lost part of a shipment of used tires. The poster had bought them from another member as well. The discussion ended abruptly when the shipping company found the tire(s). Think of the millions of items that get shipped and the (probably) low % that actually get lost and never found.
I can't imagine an engine block being lost forever, probably got sidetracked on the way to you.
If the block was insured, the shipping company pays the shipper for the stated insured value, not the buyer.

Had something similar happen. Kohler sent the wrong tub (well right one but it was a whirpool that was supposed to also have a heater) they sent the standard whirpool with no heater. Nobody would take it back after over a year I put it on craigslist. Pretty much got the run around Home Depot said it was special order contact Kohler, Kohler said contact the shipping co. the shipping co. said Kohler needs to setup a pickup.
Fed Ex lost a C5 rear that I was shipping to a forum member a while back.
Regarding the refund, it took me around 8 weeks to get my refund from Fed Ex. I refunded the CF buyer his money once I found out how long the process would take. I guess I could have left the guy high and dry, as I had my money, but that just isn't right.
I dont think it was "lost" either...Tracking number says it got on the truck.(probably a local pickup truck to the local chop shop.)
I still need an engine block though, any takers?
