Default Question

This might be a completely stupid question, but i replaced the rotors and pads on the vette last night, pretty easy job, just a took a lil time, being it was my first time and i painted the calipers.

Got the rotors from napa, and the newer versions come with the hats and outer edges painted black, so you dont have to worry about rust, and can't beat the price $28

So the brake job was pretty straight forward, question is the caliper is bolted to the pins in the bracket, and you are supposed to grease the pins, what keeps the caliper from sliding those pins all the way out and falling off?

Yeah I know stupid question....i mean you bolt the bracket down to 125ftlbs, but the caliper bolts are a lil more then hand tight 10 to 15 lbs

yeah but what holds the caliper on?

Also the fiberglass spring, in the front, I noticed when I had the wheel off there wasnt a nut on the bolt that it was attached too, just a lil washer like the ones that hold the rotors on that you have to spin off....is their supposed to be a bolt here?

The caliper is bolted to the spindal. It's threaded so it does not need a nut. The washer on front is a torque washer.

I bought my rotors from napa had them on for a year. They seem to be real good just Make sure you paint the vented part of the rotor because they rust.

Your not making any sense?

The Caliper Bracket is bolted to the spindle, the caliper is self is not threaded, it bolts to the caliper pins that are in the bracket, My question is these pins are greased and slide right out if you pull on them far enough, I'm assuming the caliper pulls on these to when you hit the brakes, my question is what keeps the caliper from pulling these pins all the way out and comming off?
