Great weekend drive
To celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary, my beautiful wife and I decided to take a 3-day-weekend trip in our 98 Corvette......and I even KNEW it was going to rain, which it did for the first leg of the trip to Seattle from Spokane.......surprise, the car did NOT melt, but it was a mess when we got it out of the hotel parking lot the next morning.
We washed it together and headed out to the coast to Long Beach Washington....something like 22 miles of the most beautiful beach...and the salt spray on the car the next morning was ...ICK! Knowing that we were going to put some high speed miles on the car getting home, I just washed the windows and called it good.....
Got to tell you -- the best drive I EVER took was Sunday...highway 101 to Astoria, OR, then highway 30 inland to Portland.........top off, temp about 75, the ocean to our right and then a beautiful mountain trip on hy 30 (had to run the heater a couple of times...)
When we got home at 9:00 PM, though both tired, we knew we could not put the car away with the front covered in bugs...so we washed it together again. Its as clean as when we left, except for the inside of the wheels which I'll do tonight....
Any of you in the Northwest part of the US...you NEED to take that drive from Seattle....to Long Beach....Astoria....Portland.........wha t a great time!!!!

First, congrats on your 5th wedding aniv.
You are very fortunate to have a wife that will help with the Vette chores, like washing.
Sounds like you had a fantastic trip. Glad you said "to hell with the rain" and went anyway! That's what these cars were made for!
Wish you could have posted up some pics, tho.

I took the digital camera along...had it right there behind my seat the whole time........guilty of being busy steering and enjoying the top off and conversation with a beautiful woman instead of stopping for pictures............................OK, OK....I don't have any!!!!
