Is anyone else having a problem with rapid blinking of turn signals with their LED Taillights? It doesn't happen all the time but it's annoying when it does........Any fixes for it?
No I don't but I hope that isn't a preview of things to come. If I hear anything about that problem I will post and I will certainly stay posted on any outcome here. Sorry I couldn't help.
I have the same issue, but haven't bothered to fix it. The fix is kind of a paint. You have to put a resistor in series with at least one of the lamps so the system detects the proper resistance based on factory lamps. Since the LEDs have lest resistance and draw less current the system is sensing it as a fault and flashing fast. What the proper resistance value is that is needed I don't know yet.

Do a search and you'll see this has been talked about before. Basically, the rapid flashing is because there is no bulb. The flasher needs to see a load (resistance) to flash properly. I added one resistor to the left and right inside connectors across the turn signal wires. This makes the flasher think that there is a bulb there and thereby flashes normally. There are other fixes so do a search and you will find them.

I installed 1 extra taillight on each side, only hooking up the outside 2 wires. You can buy the oem sockets at AutoZone. The reason for only hooking up the outside 2 wires is that you don't need the extra bulb to be on when the tail lights are on, only when the turn signals are on. After splicing the extra sockets in, I painted the bulbs black and securely attached inside the back end near the tail lights. See jdmvette's write up on this forum for additional instructions. I also tried the resistors, but they didn't work all of the time, but I had a severe case of rapid flash prior to the resistors. If your's only rapid flash occasionally, you can probably get by with the resistors. The resistor kit includes 2 resistors, as well as the connectors. You can buy the resistor kits at AutoZone too.

If you are talking about the Halo LED's, the resistors are built in to each individual light so there is no need to add any extra resistors.
The Halo's are very sensitive to voltage changes. I get a short rapid flash occassionally (maybe once out of 50 times) when braking and the A/C running. It seems to happen when the A/C compressor cycles under braking and with the engine in an idle condition.
First off make sure your battery is good with a full charge. An older battery thats not properly maintained can cause the fast flash condition.
When I originally installed my Halo's I got the rapid flash at least half of the time when stopped with the signal on. I still had the original AGM battery that came with the car (4 years old) and decided to get a new Optima Redtop and the rapid flashing stopped except for the occassional time mentioned above.
Secondly, make absolutely sure that each connector is tight. The way they plug in to the existing socket plug isn't ideal as far as a tight connection goes so I wrapped each connector with electrical tape just to make sure they don't come loose.

Lets see if this short video works. It shows both types in (Halo's on right if you can't tell). They flash almost exactly the same. The only tiem I get the "hyperflash" is if I turn them on with the car OFF.

It is common to get rapid flash with the car off. Most cars do not rapid flash with the car running. The Halo's that Richard sells on this forum have resistors already built in, and for a small percentage of people, including me, we still get the hyper flash. I had the worst case of hyper flash ever, I had to remove the Halo's until I could find a resolution. I tried a new battery when I installed mine, that didn't help at all. The resistors worked well for a couple of weeks, then the occasional rapid flash started happening again. I then installed the bulbs, and have not had an issue since then. The noise that the flasher made bothered me more than the hyper flash itself, although a car like a Corvette should not have an issue as evident as the hyper flash.
