Default side body molding?

Anyone know what is the process/ how difficult it is to remove the side body molding on my C5? I think the car would look more sleek without it.

One comment, do a thorough inspection to make sure no work has been done to the door (i.e. bottom section painted). I just used some spider wire fishing line and took mine off. Drivers side flawless, passengers side line down the side on the lower part of where the molding was. After further inspection there was some work done to the lower part of the passengers door. After several hours of work, including wet sanding, the line is almost none existent however you can still barley see it if you are really looking for it.

But yes, heat either with hairdryer or shrink tube gun and fishing line will take them off. Then I used some goo gone to remove most of the tape and claybar to clean it up. Make sure you put a good coat of polish on the area when finished.

Good Luck

I took my C5 to a local body shop, they did it in about 20 minutes for a 6 pack of beer and $10.

No holes to fill and the car looks much sleeker / cleaner IMHO.

Hi ZeroHer0 -

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...ght=remove+bsm

I used "remove BSM" in the search - many hits there -

Easy job - take your time and all is fine.

best regards-

This is what BSMs look like to me. And they also come in different colors.
