Hey all. I have a 97 Vette with 54k miles. The black on black baby is in primo condition asteticaly but for some reason the rear shocks seem very mooshy. I've had two mechanics look at it and they both agree that after driving the shocks (especially the right rear) seem as they they could stand to be replaced.
I've checked with the dealer and OEM shocks run about $230 a piece. This isn't that big an issue, but I want to make sure I am getting the best bang for my buck. Is there an after-market product that is better than the originals? I not wanting to do any special mods like put C6Z06 shocks on, just something of high quality.

Bilstien $299.99 shipped for a set of 4 lifetime warranty
I just read a letter in one of the Vette magazines, and the guy's real problem was his leaf spring. He had replaced his shocks and the car still looked as if it were lowered, the magazine guy suggested that the spring could have aged poorly.
I would think if the problem is with the ride, its the shocks. However does the car seem like it's to low???
May not apply to you at all, just something I read.

The sports for a stiffer, sportier ride or the heavy dutys for a slightly stiffer than stock ride. Love my Sports. Sales will take them down to about $280 for a set of 4.
