I'm going back to patrol duties after 15yrs in the schools. Needless to say my fair city has grown by leaps and bounds since then and I don't where the hell I'm going. I need a portable voice type GPS that I can use in my squad car and transfer to the Vette. Which ones do youse guys recommend? Who gives the best prices? Thanx in advance.
I have a Garmin C340 on sale at Circuit City for far less than $300. Voice directions and none of the other stuff that I would not use like an MP3 player a picture viewer and Europe maps. I like it. If you can find it cheaper Circuit City will reimburse the difference.
Garmin (330) Street Pilot, paid $300. , I like my sons Tom Tom (base model) better. I have had 2 cars with factory Nav systems which cost $1600.-$2000. and these cheaper models do the job.
The TomTom ONE is a really great unit for its price - I just recently upgraded to the ONE XL though which is a little more expensive but the widescreen is pretty sweet. The TomToms have been a good brand fro me all around.
